Attention Room 15 Poets! I challenge you to learn “Jabberwocky” by Lewis Carroll by memory! Because it’s difficult, here’s an audio track of it to help you practice. I have inserted silence spaces in the poem so you can repeat what you just heard aloud. Good luck. You will never defeat me.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought –
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

“And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!

Today we had 8th grade buddies. It was awesome . My buddy’s name is Callista . We had five things in common. For example, my buddy loves Hawaii and I do too. My buddy is a great artist. I love my buddy.

Today we had 8^th grade buddies! Mine was named Alex. She is 13 and goes to Head Royce School. Alex is really cool and has lots of friends. She is very attentive and intelligent.

Alex and I had lots of things in common. For example, we both like books. We also like fruit. On top of all that we like drawing. I hope I can see Alex again!!!
